Weighing less than eight ounces, the sleek GD400 handheld is equipped with ultra-sensitive GPS, a barcode scanner/imager, a high-resolution camera with flash and a daylight-viewable, water resistant touch-screen screen display.

The operating system of choice? Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5, where it enables the device to integrate quickly and easily with enterprise operations and IT networks. An ARM Cortex-A8 processor will run proceedings from within, complete with NEON multimedia technology that makes it easy to enjoy transmission of multimedia and large data files across Wi-Fi networks.

The battery of the GD400 is said to last up to 8 hours, while Bluetooth connectivity delivers hands-free conversation and cable-free data transfer between devices – after all, in some environments, you need both your hands at all times.

Larger than a personal digital assistant (PDA) and smaller than a fully-rugged notebook, the GD3070 delivers business-critical computing performance with a daylight-viewable screen and extended battery life for mobile workers throughout Europe and the Middle East. With sales, service and technical support located in Europe, the GD3070 is a cost-effective computing option for mobile workers within public utilities, surveying companies, field service representatives and others.

The GD3070 comprises an 18-centimeter, high-resolution touch-screen display enabling users to easily pinpoint information on maps or view imagery in bright sunlight. General Dynamics just announced Itronix's GD300 rugged wearable computer based on the Android platform which provides GPS and situational awareness for the army.

GD300 with SoldierThe GD300 is as light as commercial GPS receivers and allows you to refer to pre-loaded mission plans and access secure tactical netorks while being worn on the arm- or chest. It only weighs less than 8 ounces and can interface with commercial and military radios for secure access to the tactical networks. Its quadra-helix antenna helps it get a position fix in mountainous regions or urban environments.

The GD300 can operate in two distinct modes:

  • stand-alone GPS device
  • tactical mission computer when connected to a tactical radio

It even supports military "apps" like the Tactical Ground Reporting (TIGR) System which is currently in use by the military.

GD300 has up to eight hours of battery life when in continuous operation; powered by standard lithium-ion batteries. GD300 has a sunlight readable display, 3.5″ touch-screen display, and meets MIL-STD 810G specifications for ruggedness.
